What I can't seem to do is successfully import the signature into my email. I've tried using the link as both html and htm, I've tried using the source folder and bunch of other routes, but no joy :.
According to this help article, you would open the html file, copy, and paste into a compose email window. This will show how the html is going to render in an email message.
